Practice & recording
Loops, count-in, recording takes and Jam’s practice tools.
- Loop a sectionDrag across the timeline to loop a passage; on a touch screen, long-press the timeline or use Create loop. Loop edges snap to the beat, and you can keep several loops at once.
- Practise a difficult passageLoop the passage, slow it down until you can play it cleanly, then raise the speed a step at a time. Solo or mute parts so you hear exactly what you need.
- Use the count-inTurn on Count-in in the Studio’s footer (on a phone, under Settings → Playback). When you play or record from the start of a song, Jam clicks you in before the first downbeat.
- Record yourself on a songSet the tempo to 1× and the pitch to 0, put on headphones, then choose Record from Playhead. Jam plays the song while it records your microphone, then saves the take to your account.
- Manage your takesEach take is a row in the Studio. Use its ⋯ menu to rename it, adjust its EQ and Vocal enhance, or delete it, and drag its grip to move it earlier or later.
- Tuner, metronome and chord bookJam’s Toolkit has a tuner, a metronome and a chord book. Open them from Toolkit in the sidebar, or Toolbox on a phone’s home screen. They work without a song or an account.
