Rights, privacy & restrictions
Copyright, what you can upload, who owns what, and how Jam handles your audio.
- Can I use copyrighted songs with Jam?Only if you have the rights to do so. Jam can technically process a recording, but that doesn’t mean you’re allowed to: buying, streaming or owning a file doesn’t by itself give you every permission.
- Who owns my songs and recordings? You keep whatever rights you have in the material you upload and the takes you record. Jam only receives a limited licence to store and process it to run the service.
- Can I use Jam commercially? You may use Jam’s outputs in your work, but Jam’s terms don’t give you any rights in the songs you process. Commercial use needs the rights to the underlying recording and composition.
- How Jam stores and processes your audioYour uploads and takes are stored privately and processed on Jam’s infrastructure providers to separate and analyse them. Other people can hear them only through a link you share.
- Report copyright infringementIf you hold or represent the rights in material you believe is available on Jam without permission, email contact@withjam.ai with the details listed in the Copyright Policy.
