Troubleshooting
Fixes for uploads, processing, playback and recording problems.
- An upload failedMost failed uploads are an unsupported file, a song over 20 minutes, a file without sound, or a dropped connection. The message under the file says which; here’s what each one means.
- A song is stuck processingProcessing can take a while when Jam is busy, and it carries on even if you close the page. If it stops with an error, open the song and choose Retry.
- Separated parts sound wrongSome bleed between parts is normal: separation is an estimate made from the finished mix. Clean source audio helps most, and the mixer can soften what remains.
- Audio won’t play or sounds wrongCheck that no part is soloed or muted by mistake and that your device isn’t silenced, then reload the page. Most playback problems come down to one of these.
- The microphone isn’t workingAllow microphone access for Jam in your browser, check that the right microphone is connected and selected, and use an up-to-date browser over a secure connection.
- A recording is missing or silentA take ends when playback pauses or jumps, very short takes aren’t kept, and a take marked Not saved hasn’t reached your account yet. Here’s how to tell which happened.
