Tuner, metronome and chord book

Jam’s Toolkit has a tuner, a metronome and a chord book. Open them from Toolkit in the sidebar, or Toolbox on a phone’s home screen. They work without a song or an account.

Tuner

Open the tuner (opens Jam in a new tab) and choose Start tuner. It listens through your microphone and shows In tune, Tune up or Tune down.

  • Pick Chromatic, Guitar, Bass or Ukulele, with tunings such as Drop D or DADGAD.
  • Set the reference pitch between 415 and 466 Hz (Reset to 440 returns to standard).
  • The microphone audio stays on your device.

Metronome

Open the metronome (opens Jam in a new tab) and choose Start.

  • Set the tempo from 20 to 300 BPM with the buttons, the slider, the field, or Tap tempo.
  • Choose a time signature (2/4 to 12/8) and a subdivision.
  • Under Sound and accent, accent the first beat, change the sound, set the volume, or mute the click to follow the beat visually.

Chord book

Open the chord book (opens Jam in a new tab) and search for any chord, such as Cmaj7 or F#m7. It shows guitar, piano and bass shapes, plays the chord, and explains how it’s built.

Your Toolkit settings are kept in this browser.
