Who owns my songs and recordings?

You keep whatever rights you have in the material you upload and the takes you record. Jam only receives a limited licence to store and process it to run the service.

Your content

You retain your rights in what you upload and record. You give Jam a non-exclusive licence to host, copy, convert, analyse and display your content to you and the people you share it with, only as needed to provide, secure, support and improve the service, comply with the law and enforce the Terms (Terms of Service, section 4).

Songs by other people

Uploading a song doesn’t change who owns it. The songwriter, publisher and the owner of the recording keep their rights, and Jam’s outputs, such as separated parts or chord charts, don’t give you rights in the underlying song.

AI training

Jam doesn’t use your uploads, recordings or outputs to train or fine-tune AI models (Terms of Service, section 4; Privacy Policy).
