Change the key (transpose)

Use Adjust pitch to move a song up or down by as much as six semitones, one at a time. The chords Jam shows move with it, and the speed stays the same.

Steps

  1. Open Adjust pitch in the footer. On a phone, open Settings and go to Pitch shift under Playback.
  2. Use Raise pitch or Lower pitch. Each press moves one semitone, up to six either way, and the display shows the change, such as +2 ST.

The chord row, the chord grid and the chord diagrams are transposed to match what you hear.

If you see “Pitch engine still loading, please retry in a few seconds or refresh the page.”, wait a moment and try again.

Things to know

  • Recording needs the original key. Set the pitch back to 0 before you record (recording).
  • Your takes play only in the original key and at 1×.
  • Download mix needs pitch 0 (download your mix).
  • The pitch starts at 0 each time you open the song.
