Jam runs in your web browser, so there is nothing to install. Open Jam (opens Jam in a new tab) in any modern browser.
What Jam does with a song
When you add a recording, Jam:
- separates it into six parts: vocals, drums, bass, guitar, piano and other (how separation works);
- finds the beat and the chords, and transcribes the lyrics in time with the music;
- opens it in the Studio, where you mix the parts, change the speed and key, loop passages and record your own takes.
What you need
- A free account to add your own songs. You can play the demo songs and open sessions other people share with you without one.
- Audio or video files you have the right to use. Jam adds songs from files on your device; see supported files and limits.
What Jam isn’t
- Not a music catalogue. Jam doesn’t stream or sell music, and it can’t import from streaming services (why).
- Not always right. Separation, chords and lyrics are produced automatically and can contain mistakes. Your ears have the final word (when Jam gets it wrong).
