For a video, Jam keeps only the soundtrack: the upload panel shows Extracting audio… and the video itself isn’t kept. A video without a soundtrack can’t be used.

Length

Songs can be up to 20 minutes long, on every plan. For a longer recording, trim it to the part you want to practise, or export a shorter version from your audio editor.

File size

Jam doesn’t set a separate file-size limit. Large files upload in parts, so a big WAV or video just takes longer on a slow connection.

Quality

Separation works best on clean, full-quality audio. Lossless files (WAV, FLAC, AIFF) or high-bitrate MP3 and AAC give cleaner parts than heavily compressed or re-recorded audio (how separation works).

Protected files

Files locked with copy protection (DRM), such as downloads kept inside a streaming app, can’t be read. Jam doesn’t remove copy protection.

Covers

A song’s cover can be a JPEG, PNG, WebP or GIF image of up to 20 MB. Jam crops it to a square.

If a file is refused, the message says why; an upload failed lists each one.
